  • Panel: Complex Emergencies and Challenges for Malaria Elimination

Dr Estrella Lasry trained as a medical doctor (general practitioner and in emergency medicine) in Spain. She also worked in India and Brazil. She then completed a master’s degree in Tropical Medicine and International Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and started working at Medecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 2009 with field assignments as a doctor and medical team leader in Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, and Zambia. She started working at the MSF headquarters in New York as Tropical Medicine Advisor supporting the dossiers of Malaria, Neglected Tropical Diseases, and Haemorrhagic Fevers in 2011, spending much of this time in the field, mostly in African countries. In 2017, she moved back to Spain where she serves as tropical medicine advisor and team leader at the MSF Barcelona medical department.
