Robert Martin Ellis
Mr Martin Ellis serves as head of Supply Chain at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Prior to joining the Global Fund, he worked in Rwanda on a the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) project implementing a monthly active distribution service to deliver pharmaceuticals from the central warehouse in Kigali to the rural district pharmacies. The project contributed to fewer stock-outs, less inventory, and fewer emergency deliveries. Previously, Mr Ellis worked as an independent consultant operating his own company called Optimised Operations Limited. During his time in consulting, he worked for many blue chip companies and small and medium sized enterprises in a variety of industries. Mr Ellis served his apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce Aerospace in Derby, then later moved to Jaguar Cars in Coventry. His 15 years of industrial experience was followed by a move to the US to start a career in operations and supply chain consultancy with Arthur D. Little. He later moved to Ernst & Young in London and worked in their Manufacturing Industries practice.
Mr Ellis earned an Ordinary National Diploma in Technology (Engineering), a Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and a master’s of Business Administration from Warwick Business School. He also completed an Executive Leadership Development Program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
