As a 2012 course instructor, Ms Kanika Bahl was managing director at Results for Development Institute (R4D), where she led the Market Dynamics practice. At R4D, Ms Bahl led an engagement to develop the Global Fund Market Shaping Strategy that now underpins its $7B health commodities portfolio, developing approaches to save over $500M on HIV/AIDS drug purchases. She also directed a project on the global bed net marketplace which has identified strategies to save over $600M while aligning manufacturer incentives for innovation. She also co-chairs the United Nations Commission on Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children’s Market Shaping group.

Prior to joining R4D, Ms Bahl served as executive vice president at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), where she managed the launch of the over $400M CHAI-UNITAID antiretroviral donation program across 33 countries and led the design of the multi-billion dollar U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief Supply Chain Management Systems mechanism. Ms Bahl previously worked in emerging markets finance at Bechtel Enterprises and earned a master’s of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
