Dr Frédéric Ariey has been working in the endemic area since 1992, first as a physician and then as researcher. He is based at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France where he works as a Chargé de Recherche on malaria genetics and evolution, with a focus on resistance to antimalarial drugs.
