Prior to joining the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2010, Professor Caroline Buckee was a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford, and an Omidyar Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute. She also serves as the associate director of the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Her research interests focus on the population dynamics of genetically diverse pathogen species, including the malaria parasite and meningococcus disease. She employs a range of modeling techniques to understand the relationship between the evolution of these species and the epidemiological patterns of infection and disease among human populations.
